We are very excited to announce that Bison Scales (Container Scales and C-Legs) now have Pattern Approval in Australia! This approval follows on from our OIML R76 Certification and similar approvals in a number of regions, including:
Pattern Approval (known as "Type Approval" in some countries) is independent recognition that the design of Bison's weighing equipment meets the required standards in that country. Once a scale design is "pattern approved" or “type approved”, the scales are then eligible to be approved legal-for-trade" or “trade approved” in that country.
If you are trading containerised commodities by weight (for example scrap metal), then you will likely need trade approved weighing equipment to measure the weight of your goods for transactional purposes. It's also mandatory in some countries to use trade approved scales to produce a verified gross mass (VGM) under the Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) Convention.
And even if you are just check-weighing your containers, you can be more confident about the accuracy and reliability of the weight measurements if you use trade approved scales.
